Custom Countertops in Kansas City

Graduated from Lawson High School in 1987. Danny joined his brother Dean in 1986 to start Miller’s Custom Cabinets. Danny worked with Dean to grow the business over the next 15 years. He took over as President when Dean left the company, and he later started Signature Solid Surfaces and Miller Associates. He has spent his entire adult life managing the Miller Companies. Danny is also an avid Team Roper and has competed nationally and won two national championships.

Graduated from Lawson High School in 1990. Kenny spent a year at college and then came home to join his brothers at Miller’s Custom Cabinets. He has worked side by side with both his brothers at first, then later with Danny to manage Miller’s Custom Cabinets and Signature Solid Surfaces. Kenny’s main responsibilities remain in sales, as he has a great deal of experience in design and customers love working with him. In addition to being a husband and a proud father of two, Kenny is also an avid dirt bike rider and Motocross competitor and has won several competitions over the years.  He enjoys an active lifestyle that also includes Jeeping, mountain biking, skiing, and kayaking, among others.

Graduated from Lawson High School in 1990. Michelle began working at Miller’s Custom Cabinets in 1991 as a receptionist. She has also worked in the shop and installed hardware on cabinets. Michelle soon became an integral part of Miller’s Custom Cabinets while it was still in its early stages. Over the years she has been one of the “cornerstones” that Miller’s is built on. She has been an adviser, counselor, administrator, and the one in charge of keeping Danny Miller in line. For the last several years, she has served as office manager, business adviser, and head of accounting. Outside of work Michelle’s focus has been on her family, including raising two daughters who are now in college. She loves taking care of her home (especially her yard), trips to the mountains, and exploring the American West.

Graduated from Kearney High School in 1990. Grew up in a construction family where his entire family was employed in the home building industry. Kris worked for a large trim crew after high school, then went on to work as a building superintendent for some large builders in the Kansas City area. In 2010 Signature was looking for a new General Manager and Dana Hayes (Kris’s Brother and Miller’s Salesman) suggested Kris would be a great fit. Kris joined Signature in January of 2011 and has overseen the day to day operations every since. Outside of work Kris competes with Dana in Competitive Bass Fishing Tournaments, enjoys fly fishing, soccer, and spending time with his family in the outdoors.

Graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1998. Wade worked for both a plumber and electrician after high school, and then eventually ended up at Miller’s Cabinets in 2003. Wade worked in the shop at Miller’s for a couple of years and then left when he and Danny couldn’t agree on pay. After about 4 more years of plumbing he and Danny both decided they were better off together. Wade came back to Miller’s in 2009 and helped manage the shop. In 2011 he moved over to Signature to run the shop. Wade’s varied background gives him the ability to handle about anything that gets thrown at him. He has a very direct approach to most situations and is very loyal to his company and friends. Outside of work Wade competes in Arena Cross (side by side racing of trucks around a course with jumps), works on his farm, spends time with his wife and 2 boys.

Graduated from Milan High School in 1982. Holly first came to work at Miller’s Cabinets in 1996 as a receptionist. Over the years she took on more responsibility and was a big part of our office staff’s organization helping to keep day to day operations flowing smoothly. After leaving the company for a few years, she came back to Signature this time to take over much of the same responsibilities. Holly greets customers, handles material ordering, does inside sales, and assists customers in picking out all of their countertop details. She has an easy going, friendly personality that everyone loves to work with. Outside of work she has 5 grandchildren that she loves watching play sports, loves the outdoors and spends as much time as possible enjoying life with family, pets, and friends.

Graduated from Kearney High School in 1992. Dana grew up in construction, and his entire family worked in the industry. He worked as a building superintendent for a large residential builder in Liberty, MO, then later started a construction company with his family. Danny and Kenny talked Dana into coming to work in sales for them in 2002. With his background he came in and quickly learned to become an important part of the team. Dana continues to do sales and handles a lot of our builder accounts and is an important voice in major business decisions. He is a vital part of the Miller family. Dana’s interests outside of work include competitive bass fishing, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and off-road Jeeps, to name a few.

Went to High School with Danny in Lawson, graduating in 1986. David went to work for Smithville Cabinet Company right out of high school where he worked for 4 years. After leaving Smithville Cabinets, Dave started his own cabinet shop which he owned and ran for several years. In 2010 Danny talked David into coming to work at Miller’s. He installed cabinets for the first 4 years, then moved into sales and took over management of the install, hardware, and service crews. David still lives in Lawson, is married to his wife, Tami, and has 3 boys. His hobbies include fly fishing, skiing (both water and snow), and watching his youngest son play competitive baseball, among other sports. Dave is also a huge Royals fan, which you will notice when you meet him in the office.

Graduated from Rolla High School in 2000. Amy’s dad was a framing carpenter and her dream growing up was to help him frame houses. Her fear of heights, however, forced her to look at alternative career paths. She enrolled in a cabinet making and design course at a local trade school and fell in love with it. She went to work for Smithville Cabinet Company in 2002 working in the shop, later moving into the office doing purchasing and design work. In 2010 she became part of the Miller’s Team working in everything from purchasing to design, and bidding. In the last few years, Amy has been doing her own sales as well as teaming up with Dana to help him keep up with his customers. Together they handle several of our larger customers. Amy has a great eye for design and tends to have a little more contemporary flare than most of the rest of our staff which makes her a great fit for customers wanting a more modern style. Outside of work Amy enjoys time with her family and friends, wine tasting, camping, motorcycle riding, and yard work.

Graduated from Kearney High School in 2017. Brett spent a couple of years playing college baseball for Kansas City Kansas Community College. Brett joined the Signature Solid Surface’s team in 2018 and was immediately put into training on our CNC programming. He went to St. Cloud, MN. for training at the Park Industries educational school where all of our automated machines come from. Brett has been a fast learner and is quickly becoming an important part of our company. He also assists customers in the layout and design of their countertops, making sure they are happy with the final result. Outside of work Brett is a huge sports fan, loves fast Mustang cars, hunting, fishing, and hanging out with family and friends.
